Laax

  • We stayed at the rocksresort in Laax and had a beautiful holiday apartment with stunning views of the mountains. The apartment featured a spacious kitchen, which allowed us to prepare many of our meals ourselves. The location is perfect, as it's right next to the lift with plenty of dining options nearby. It's an ideal spot for beginners who don't have much experience, as everything is conveniently located in one place.

  • We always prepared our own breakfast.

    On the mountain

Tegia Miez: A very cozy, traditional little alpine hut with lots of charm and local dishes. It’s located along the blue slope that leads down from the mountain station.

Caffè NoName: A very trendy café with delicious coffee and paninis. It's always quite busy, so a bit of patience is needed.

Das Elephant: There you'll find the very best schnitzel, which tastes even better at altitude. It's a slightly more upscale mountain restaurant.

    In the valley

Camino: They serve very delicious pizza, which we enjoyed both on-site in a lovely atmosphere and as takeout back at the apartment.

Nooba: We had a very good noodle soup there, which was just the perfect way to recharge after a day on the slopes.

Otherwise, we cooked pasta or prepared salad ourselves.

  • If you're an architecture enthusiast, you shouldn't miss the Gelbes Haus by Valerio Olgiati in Flims. It's a true architectural gem with lots of character and an incredible tactile quality.
