New York

We stayed at the Cloud One in FIDI.
The Financial District is mostly dominated by office buildings, but it is very well connected to the New York subway system. In just 5 walking-minutes, you can reach Battery Park, where you can enjoy a nice stroll with views of New Jersey and the Statue of Liberty. The hotel is very clean, with spacious rooms and a hassle-free experience. However, if you want to be in the heart of the nightlife, you should consider staying in Soho, Lower Manhattan, or Greenwich Village.

Play it as it lays by Joan Didion
Even though the book is set in Los Angeles rather than New York, it conveys a sense of city life, the fast pace, the effort, and the excitement that comes with such a lifestyle.
